13th annual Truck Convoy for Special Olympics Nova Scotia
Truckers unite for record-breaking convoy in support of Special Olympics Nova Scotia.
(September 2024 – Dartmouth, NS) - On Saturday, September 21, 2024, the roads of Shearwater, Dartmouth, and Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia, were filled with the powerful rumble of engines as truckers from across the region united for a noble cause. The 13th annual Truck Convoy in support of Special Olympics Nova Scotia was a resounding success, setting new records in both participation and funds raised.
As a proud Big Rig sponsor, Midland played a significant role in this year’s event. The convoy, which spanned approximately 25 kilometres, saw an impressive turnout of 220 trucks, surpassing previous records. Together, these dedicated truckers raised just over $167,000, a new milestone for the event.
Midland’s contribution was particularly noteworthy, with 20 trucks participating and a donation of just over $15,000. This generous support underscores Midland’s commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
John MacDonald, the director of Business Development and Marketing for Special Olympics Nova Scotia, expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Our goals cannot be achieved without your support. These funds will be used directly to deliver our sport training and youth programs across Nova Scotia. Special Olympics athletes, coaches, and families are so thankful for your support. You are making a difference in the lives of Nova Scotians with intellectual disabilities.”
The Truck Convoy for Special Olympics Nova Scotia continues to be a beacon of hope and solidarity, demonstrating the power of community and the difference we can make when we come together. Midland is honoured to be part of this incredible journey and looks forward to supporting future events.
